Welcome

My name is David McElhinney and I live in Grand Bay-Westfield, NB. I am the husband of Carolyn (see picture), father of four, father-in-law of three, and grandfather of nine. Currently, I am retired as the assistant pastor at River Valley Wesleyan Church, the church I planted in 1988 which was being led by my former assistant pastor, Shawna Rogers, but is now being led by Darren and Janel Clark as our lead pastors.

Weddings are a big part of my ministry life. A good portion of this website will be devoted to helping couples plan their unique service. If you are one of those and looking to begin your planning, start here.

Our Life at the Moment

For the past three years I have been working at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Covid Screener was my first job, then I helped with the Immunization Clinics, and, after that, I became Office Support in the Pre-Op Clinic, Day Surgery, DOSA, and GI Lab. Love this unit and the people I worked with there for almost two years.  But, finally, I landed a permanent position as the evening unit clerk at 4DN, the psychiatry floor.  Really looking forward to the challenges of working with the great team of doctors, nurses, and many other staff who make that place go.

As a relatively inexperienced WordPress user, I apologize for any website problems that I may experience and you have to endure. Come back or drop me an email if you stumble in here during this beginning phase of things while I am learning how to do all of this stuff. Hopefully I will get it figured out fairly soon. Thank you.

Carolyn has retired from her position at the Regional where she was working as a ward clerk. She is truly enjoying being at home, watching game shows, doing coloring books, reading, and keeping the place really clean.

On Sunday, we attend the church I pastored for over 30 years. You can check out our Sunday services on Facebook live. Check it out  You can listen to the other messages on our website.

Summer is drawing to a close and I am enjoying riding to work on  RMBLB as often as I can. Carolyn no longer rides with me as she had a broken back and does not feel safe riding anymore.

Recently, my oldest son, Jonathan, has had a cancer scare and is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Your prayers for him would be greatly appreciated.

Just today, September 13, 2025, I fixed a few broken links on this page. Hope this makes your visit here more enjoyable. Have a great day wherever you are. Blessings!Â
